Frequently asked questions

  • Yes. We are happy to be seeing people in person again. Our office is in downtown Port Coquitlam.

  • Sessions are $145 for 50 minutes (individual) and $200 for 75 minutes (family/couple). All sessions are subject to 5% GST.

  • Yes! Our services are covered by many extended healthcare providers. Check to see if your plan covers “Registered Therapeutic Counsellors” to be certain. If you have a health care spending account (HCSA) this can also be used for our services.

    Please note, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure coverage! We cannot take responsibility for session fees in the event that a claim is refused.

  • We do not offer direct billing at this time. If you are signed up with online access to your benefits account, reimbursement is generally quite fast.

  • Each client’s situation is unique and will require a unique treatment approach. Let’s chat about this in person or by phone.

  • No, counsellors do not provide diagnoses. We can provide information about pursuing a diagnosis if you have concerns.

  • Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice so we can offer someone else your spot. If you are unable to provide 48 hours’ notice a late cancellation fee equivalent to the full cost of the session will apply.

    In the event of illness, we are happy to discuss rescheduling or transitioning to an online session.

  • If we are not a good fit, Wiseheart is part of a wide network of counsellors and we can provide you with a referral to another counsellor who might be a better fit.

  • Yes. Everything you say to us is held in the strictest confidence. There are a few exceptions to this policy that every counsellor must abide by, and we will review them with you in our first session.
