FAMILY counselling
In families that are struggling, there is often one person who signals loudly that there are urgent problems to address. This can be a child threatening suicide, or a partner who has been under chronic stress and who finally feels they can’t go on like this anymore.
This work is a hybrid of personal exploration and guided healing, as well as relational skill building. There is also a focus on resourcing for the family, which can include referring them for parent coaching, substance use support, a home organizer or other in-home supports, or even for psychoeducational resources such as autism assessments or psychoeducational assessments to bring greater awareness to factors impacting the family.
Often having an objective, supportive outsider can help the family uncover the steps necessary to get their family life on track.
